Cheers to everybody who came to the show with Laeto and
Senator, and "big up yersel!" to Senator for playing shortly
after they had all their gear nicked.
Things to look
at: empire-builder
page on Jockrock.

One gig next month. It'll be with Laeto and Senator on the
15th December at, you guessed it, the 13th Note Cafe (Glasgow,
UK). The gig with Pupkin and Fretlin was excellent, and had a suspiciously high
attendance.
The Gringo tour
diary was available for everybody's amusement.
We have a gig lined up for November 11th, at Nice 'n'
Sleazy (Glasgow, UK) with Pupkin and Fretlin.
Two of the builders were part of the Gringo monster rock
tour 2000. Colin was in his usual Eska spot while Robert
was filling in for the scholarly Kenny who had to miss out due
to other commitments. Thanks to everyone who put us up/put up
with us and everyone who came down to the shows. Hopefully Gringo won't be put
off touring for life and that the 'builder can become the
touring machine.
Empire-Builder now have a page
on Vitaminic (now defunct). Not
much on there at the moment, but I hope to add to it soon.
There is a new review up
as well; it is taken from Broken Violin fanzine.
The gig with Akira was good fun, although the 13th Note really needs some air conditioning. We probably won't be playing again until October, as Colin and Robert are away for most of September.
Both July gigs went really well, and congratulations to the
Gringo collective for a fantastic display of drunkenness. Our
next gig will be on the 22nd August at the 13th Note Cafe (Glasgow,
UK) with Akira.
Do you like reading interviews? Well
there's one (was one), and it
features the 'builder talking to Marceline of paper_cut and diskant fame.
Do you
like MP3s? Well the sounds section
is finally up and populated!
Do you like statistics?
What? No! Well here they are anyway. The 'builder site has
been up for over a year and is averaging 4.5 hits per day. We
don't just bring the rock!
We have two gigs coming up soon. The first is on the 14th July, at the 13th Note Club (Glasgow, UK) with The Dismemberment Plan and the other is on the 16th July, at Nice 'n' Sleazy (Glasgow, UK) with The Redneck Manifesto and Joe Quimby's solo project (aquincawacha).
The Soundtrax night was really good: thanks to Craig Hargrave for providing both the video and playing the unsequenceable sequencer parts! We should be returning to live in the summer. We'll keep you posted!
We will be playing the next Soundtrax night at the 13th Note Cafe (Glasgow,
UK) on March 20th. This involves us playing behind a screen
(maybe a good idea...) while a synchornised video is played.
Should be good.
There is a review from the el hombre gig on
underpop, and some new images too.
We played a 'secret' gig with El Hombre Trajeado at
the start of the month, the main secret part being the free
tequila available at the door! The line up for the gig on the
20th was finally settled as: Bego / Cho Cho / empire-builder.
No Fretlin or Akira, which was a shame.
The 'builder
are going to take a working break for a bit in order for us to
get some new material together.
Check out another review of the single by the
same guy who wrote the kerrang review. Obviously not much of
grower then...
